Dr. Justin Rider, DDS

Air Force trained

Dr. Rider obtained his Bachelor of Science degree at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale before receiving his dental degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry. Before entering private practice, he served an advanced education in general dentistry residency at Sheppard Air Force Base in Texas and was assigned to Davis-Monthan Air Force Base right here in Tucson for three years.

In 2010, after completing an additional year of clinical and continuing education, Dr. Rider was recognized by the Air Force Specialty Code as an Advanced Clinical Dentist. That postgraduate education gave him additional training in IV sedation, oral surgery, wisdom tooth extractions, dental implants, and orthodontics, the exact combination that lets our patients get comprehensive treatment in the comfort of their own dental office.

What he does here

Dr. Rider is the surgical side of the practice. He performs extractions, including wisdom teeth, places dental implants alongside Dr. Asadi, and handles the surgical placement in All-on-4 full-arch cases, where Dr. Asadi then completes the restorative phase. Every surgical case is planned on our in-house 3D CBCT scanner before anything touches your mouth.

The sedation difference

Dr. Rider administers IV sedation, which is what makes longer procedures and anxious visits genuinely comfortable at our office. Depending on availability and the type of sedation planned, a visiting anesthesiologist may provide your sedation instead, and either way you are monitored throughout your appointment. For most offices, sedation of this level means referring you to a surgical center. For our patients, it means the same chair, the same team, and one less unfamiliar place on a stressful day.
