AI-assisted diagnostics: a second set of eyes

When we take your x-rays, our doctors review every image, the same careful way dentists always have. What's new is that they now have help: Pearl, an FDA-cleared AI system that reads x-rays alongside your dentist and highlights areas worth a closer look, from the earliest signs of a cavity forming between teeth to subtle changes in bone that are easy for anyone to overlook on a small gray image.

Think of it as a spell-checker for x-rays. It never makes the diagnosis, and it never decides your treatment. Your dentist does that, every time. The AI simply helps ensure nothing is missed, so small problems get caught while they're still small, and you're never treated for something you don't have.

We'll also show you what we see. When the software highlights something on your x-ray, you'll see it on the screen too, so you can understand exactly why we're recommending what we're recommending.

3D imaging (CBCT): seeing the whole picture

A regular x-ray is a flat photo. Our Carestream 3D CBCT scanner gives your doctor a complete three-dimensional view of your teeth, roots, nerves, and jawbone, in one quick and comfortable scan that takes less than a minute.

Digital x-rays: sharper images, less radiation

Our digital x-rays use a fraction of the radiation of old-style film, appear on screen instantly, and can be enlarged so both you and your doctor can see clearly what's going on. For families, that means safer, faster visits, and no waiting around while film develops.

Soft-tissue laser: gentler work on the gums

For treatment that involves gum tissue, we use a soft-tissue dental laser instead of a scalpel. Ours is cordless and about the size of a pen, and it works with focused light rather than a blade.

What that means for you: the laser seals tiny blood vessels as it goes, so there is usually very little bleeding, often no stitches, and many patients find the area heals faster and more comfortably than it would after traditional gum surgery.

We use it for things like reshaping gum tissue, releasing a tongue-tie, clearing infection from around a tooth, and helping cold sores and canker sores settle down. It is designed for soft tissue, so it works alongside our other instruments rather than replacing what we use for fillings.
