Dr. Payam K. Asadi, DMD

A Tucson story

Dr. Asadi moved to Tucson with his family during his teenage years, the same years he spent playing piano and, by his own cheerful admission, being a computer nerd who taught himself to code. Both stuck: the musician's patience with practice and the programmer's love of understanding how systems work would eventually shape the kind of dentist he became.

He stayed local for his education, earning a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from The University of Arizona, graduating Magna Cum Laude. During those years he volunteered at El Rio Dental Clinic and St. Elizabeth's Health Center Dental Clinic, where the work turned into a calling. He went on to the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health in Mesa, where he received advanced training in a wide range of dental techniques and treatments.

The technology-first dentist

The former coder never really left. Dr. Asadi is the driving force behind the practice's investment in modern dentistry: the iTero digital scanner that replaced goopy impressions, the 3D CBCT imaging that maps anatomy before surgery, and the AI-assisted X-ray analysis that gives every diagnosis a second set of eyes. He evaluates these tools the way he once evaluated software, hands-on and skeptically, and only what genuinely improves patient care makes it into the office. The same curiosity keeps him in the classroom. Dr. Asadi is a proud member of Spear Education and takes continuing education courses constantly, staying on top of the latest techniques, materials, and technologies so his patients benefit from where dentistry is going, not just where it has been.

How he practices

Ask his patients what stands out and it is usually this: Dr. Asadi involves you in every step and every decision. He shows you what he sees on the screen, explains the options in plain language, lays out the trade-offs honestly, and then decides together with you rather than for you. Nothing happens in your mouth that you did not understand and choose first.

At the practice, Dr. Asadi provides general and cosmetic dentistry, sees same-day emergencies, places dental implants alongside Dr. Rider, handles the restorative phase of All-on-4 full-arch cases, and straightens smiles as a certified Invisalign provider.

Beyond the office

Dr. Asadi believes everyone deserves access to quality dental care, regardless of their financial situation. He volunteers regularly and has provided free care for veterans and homeless veterans in the Tucson community.
