4 Reasons to Choose Invisalign for Teeth Straightening

Invisalign® clear aligners might be ideal for you if you do not want to deal with a mouth full of metal. The treatment involves using clear aligner trays to push your teeth to a better alignment. Braces are the oldest way to straighten teeth, and they are still an effective solution. It just so happens that braces also ruin your smile during treatment.

It is impossible to have an attractive smile when your teeth are covered with metal brackets and wires. Braces can lead to a person feeling self-conscious about the way their teeth look.

Invisalign® clear aligners are virtually impossible to see when worn, and they can be just as effective as traditional metal braces when it comes to straightening teeth. These oral appliances can be used to treat orthodontic issues, like

  • Crooked teeth
  • Gaps between teeth
  • Overjets
  • Overbites
  • Underbites
  • Crossbites
  • Misaligned teeth

Treating poorly aligned teeth provides benefits besides improving the way the patient's teeth look. It also protects the patient against gum disease and tooth decay because misaligned teeth are more likely to trap food particles and are more difficult to clean.

Reasons to go with Invisalign® teeth straightening

Ready for a teeth-straightening solution that will not compromise the appearance of your teeth? Here are some of the popular reasons people choose Invisalign® over other alternatives:

  1. Hard to notice: one of the main selling points of Invisalign® clear aligners is how difficult it is to tell when a person is wearing them. The aligner trays are made from transparent plastics, so it does not look like the patient has anything covering their teeth.
  2. Removable: Invisalign® aligners are removable oral appliances, unlike braces, which are permanently fixed once installed. This makes Invisalign® the more convenient option, as the aligners can be taken out for oral hygiene or meals. People with braces have to be careful about what they eat because food particles can get trapped underneath the wires and brackets. Braces also make it more difficult to clean teeth because the brackets prevent the bristles of a toothbrush from reaching some areas.
  3. Comfortable: Invisalign® aligners are made from soft plastics that are less likely to damage soft tissues in the mouth. The metal components of braces can damage these tissues.
  4. Less discoloration: people who wear braces often need teeth whitening when they are done with braces to remove stains on their teeth. This is due to braces making it more difficult to clean the mouth.

The process

The dentist will evaluate the patient to determine if it is the right solution for them. Digital scans of the patient's teeth are taken and used to make a model of their teeth. The model is used to run projections of what treatment will look like. The data is sent to a lab that makes Invisalign® trays. The patient will get multiple trays at the start of their treatment, each set is worn for two weeks.
